HORSES FOR VETERANS

Challenged Champions Equestrian Center started the Horses for Veterans program in 2014, it is a program for veterans and active duty service members. This program is offered FREE OF CHARGE and they would like to invite all who are interested. A variety of individuals participate in this program and they design their program around the needs/expectations of the participant. Participants will learn horse care, grooming, leading, tacking (saddling) and riding. Participants can call or email to set up times to come to the barn, or check our calendar to participate in scheduled group events for veterans.

The mission of the Challenged Champions Equestrian Center, Inc. is to enrich and improve the lives of children and adults with mental, physical, and emotional challenges through facilitated equine activities. Challenged Champions Equestrian Center was established in 1997 as a non-profit charitable corporation. Using the horse and its environment, they provide equine assisted activities and therapies (EAAT) for individuals with a variety of needs. EAAT has been proven to show physical, social, cognitive, and emotional improvement in participants. Challenged Champions is located in Ottawa, Ohio and serves more than 400 veterans and individuals with special needs annually.
